INSTALLATIONWhen installing the rolls, one should make sure not to install it directly under water tanks, but separate support for a raised walkway should be provided. Electrical cables should be installed in accordance with the British Standard BS 7671: 2001 and the Electricians Handbook, depending on the specific situation, whereas all cables should be lifted free of insulation, where possible. In order of providing air tightness of the insulation, a minimum of 100m thickness of insulation is recommended when installed onto loft hatches.
When installed between the ceiling joists, it is recommended that the rolls are cross-layered between and over the joists, in order of meeting the prescribed U values and decrease potential heat loss. The first layer of insulation should be laid between the ceiling joists (starting from the eaves) and then another layer should be rolled over the existing layer of insulation and the ceiling joists. However, if only upgrading existing insulation that does not need to be removed, only one layer of insulation (preferably 170mm thickness) can be used to cover the existing insulation.
