Knauf Aquapanel Systems
Knauf Aquapanel System is a range of cement boards, jointing and finishing accessory products together provide high performance interior and exterior systems. Knauf Aquapanel cement boards are ideal for challenging wet and humid conditions.
Knauf Aquapanel cement boards are specifically designed to be water resistant, moisture resistant and vapour resistant. They can be used as render carriers on external walls and soffits, as tile backers for internal walls in wet areas and as rooftop boards. Knauf Aquapanel cement boards are surprisingly lightweight, tough and impact resistant and quick and easy to install. Another advantage is that Aquapanel bends and can be curved to a radius of 1 metre, giving greater design flexibility.
Knauf Aquapanel Cement Board is a robust, non-combustible building panel made of aggregated Portland cement with coated glass fibre mesh embedded in both surfaces. The panels are square edged and the edges are reinforced for extra strength. These panels offer a dry panel system with the strength of brick and block and can withstand extreme weather conditions. It is 100% water-resistant and resistant to mould and mildew. It costs low to install.
Types of Aquapanel Systems

- Knauf Aquapanel Floor Tile Underlay
- Knauf Aquapanel Cement Board Rooftop
Arches and domes can be created using the Knauf Aquapanel Outdoor boards. Curved designs with a radius down to one meter can be achieved with a full board. For smaller radius, the board must be divided into smaller strips. Fire risk is reduced if non-flammable building materials as possible are used. In the event of a fire, the structure should remain stable sufficiently long, and prevent spread of fire and smoke to other buildings or other parts of the building for long enough for people within the building could be able to leave the building safely. The Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor has been proven by extensive fire tests.
Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor is used as a render baseboard for water-managed and ventilated facades, as well as in exterior suspended ceilings. It is made of a relatively dense material and has a greater modulus of elasticity. This board is highly vapour-tight and therefore the water that penetrates the wall construction will have more difficulty diffusing through the board.
Aquapanel Joint Filler - grey is a cement-bound filling material specially developed for the joint treatment of Aquapanel Cement Board Outdoor in walls and ceilings.
Aquapanel Cement Board Indoor is the perfect board for exceptionally light performance, reliability and stability even in wet and humid conditions for both wall and ceiling applications. This board is ideal for use in the most challenging conditions, such as swimming pools, steam saunas, communal showers and kitchen areas. Aquapanel Cement Board Indoor is manufactured from inorganic materials and highly resistant to water and mould, weighs just 11 kg/m² – making it easy to handle and fast to install, with superb flexibility for curved walls too.
Aquapanel Cement Board SkyLite is developed specifically for use on ceilings in indoor and outdoor areas (with wind loads of up to 1.5 kN /m²).
Both 6mm and 12.5mm Aquapanel Cement Board Rooftop boards are now FM approved as a cover board with mechanically attached membranes (class 4470 - Single-Ply, Polymer-Modified Bitumen Sheet, Built-Up Roof (BUR) for Use in Class 1 and Noncombustible Roof Deck Construction). The approval identification is PR461397.
