FireCase
FireCase is a non-combustible system providing adequate fire protection of up to 120 minutes, used for quality cladding to structural steel, including universal steel columns and beams, castellated beam sections and joists. It can be used in any type of building, enabling applying decorative treatments with no additional requirements and providing a smooth yet very resistant surface. It can be installed rather quickly with the ability to make the process even simpler and faster by offering an option of staple-fixing. The system is BBA approved offering substantial fire protection to the steel structure.
Certain consideration should be taken into account upon installation, including:
- the required thickness of the cladding can be determined by assessing whether the protection is necessary to all four or only three sides of the section, determining the required period of fire-resistance, determining the A&V values and factors set in the White Book and choosing the type of the board accordingly;
- wherever the fire resistance requirements of the partition are less than 60 minutes and there a re no special pressure resistance and loading requirements, wall linings and partitions can be fixed directly onto the cladding;
- additional support for the cladding may be required whenever the dimensions of the steel section web exceed 600mm;
- conventional tile adhesives can be used for lightweight tiles;
