DriLyner MF
DriLyner MF is a system applicable to both new-build and refurbishment projects, providing an ultimate drywall solution for concrete, brick and block walls. The system incorporates Gyproc plasterboards or ThermaLine laminates fixed to the Gypframe channels and bonded directly to the wall by using adhesives. The fact that the ThermaLine laminates are fixed to the channels by using sealant and drywall screws only reduces the possibility of thermal bridges occurring. The masonry lining system offers substantial U values of down to 0.22. The installation process is simple due to the fact that the boards can be bonded directly onto the wall and the services can be incorporated with minimum chasing.
Certain consideration should be taken into account upon installation, including:
- service positions should be planned at the construction stage; in order of cutting the boards close to the wall ceilings should be installed before applying DriLyner linings, which is also applicable to interior partitions, wherever acoustic performance is of importance;
- where vertical cavity barriers are required, which can be met by installing a continuous line of dabs down the board center;
- in order of improving thermal performance and reducing heat loss, the cavity must be properly sealed by sealing the junctions and fitting the abutting elements and the background;
- the backgrounds DriLyner linings are installed must be properly sound and dry; if there a re drastic variations in moisture content, this must be taken care of in order of avoiding suction differences; proper ventilation of heating should be used wherever there is excessive moisture present in order of speeding up the drying process and avoiding adverse affect on the lining and the building structure;
- services such as conduits and pips should be fixed before installing the framing, whereas cables covered with PVC must be adequately separated from any polystyrene insulation, gas pipes should be installed in accordance with BS 6891 and electrical services should be installed in accordance with BS 7671;
- lightweight fixtures can be installed directly to the lining while others the length of the fixing device must be taken into account.
