12.5mm Knauf Safeboard (X-ray resistant plasterboard) - For Healthcare Sector - 625mm x 2400mm
Knauf Safeboard is an X-ray shielding plasterboard with a barium sulphate core that effectively and significantly reduces the amount of lead needed within X-ray shielding partitions in a wide range of applications within the healthcare sector, and in many cases removing the need for lead altogether. Knauf Safeboard X-ray protection board also has excellent fire and acoustic performance. Knauf Safeboard is simple and easy to install and can be scored and snapped like a standard plasterboard. Knauf Safeboard Joint Filler is used to fill joints to complete the full radiation shield. Partitions made with Knauf Safeboard can be inexpensively designed to suit mobile X-ray apparatus, and can be re-fitted or removed far more easily than traditional lead-lined partitions, and most importantly safe for humans. The flexibility to redesign interior layouts and changes of use is increasingly important when considering future-adaptable healthcare projects.
The barium sulphate core is the radiocontrasting agent that creates the barrier for electromagnetic radiation of specific frequencies. Knauf Safeboard is filled with enough barium to effectively block X-rays across its entire area. Every single square metre of Knauf Safeboard is tested thoroughly to ensure that the stated level of X-ray shielding will be achieved. You can be confident it will shield you from these potentially harmful rays first time and every time. There is no degradation of performance during the lifetime of the product.
Knauf Safeboard has an ivory face, brown reverse, yellow core and has a tapered edge (rounded) with board details printed in the reverse.
