22.5mm Isocheck Isowave System 23 Acoustic Plasterboard
Isocheck Isowave System 23 Acoustic Plasterboard is a wall and ceiling system, designed for reducing excessive flanking sound transmission through lightweight structural wall constructions. The system is used in all new build, refurbishment and conversion applications, able to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations, Approved Document E 2003 (including the following amendments from 2004 and 2010). The system includes a reinforced high-density gypsum board bonded to 10mm Isowave acoustic foam, which is extremely eco-friendly since using only water as the blowing agent and free of any harmful gasses, including CFC, HFC or HCFC. It is specially designed for reducing flanking noise transmission in 1. masonry walls and reducing airborne sound transmission in existing separating walls, and 2. separating floors and ceilings upgrades where floor top is not accessible.
- Provides flanking and airborne sound transmission reduction,
- Applicable to new build, refurbishment and conversation,
- Includes an acoustic foam measured to BS 4443 and BS EN ISO 845:2009,
- Provides good thermal properties,
- Able to meet values prescribed by the Approved Document E of the Building Regulations for ozone depletion,
- Environmentally friendly,
- Great damping characteristics.
Isocheck Isowave System 23 is applicable in refurbishment, conversion and new build applications, to be used for reducing sound transmission in masonry and separating walls, and in separating floors/ceilings where access to the top of the floor is not possible.
The system should be securely fixed to all the supports, starting from the board centre to the edges. The fixings should be placed not less than 20mm from the edges and 50mm from the board corners, sunk into the board surface and stopped with adequate filler.
A cement board is bonded with an adhesive, whereas the joints should be at least 1mm wide. When the adhesive has hardened enough, excessive amounts can be removed with a spatula.
Finally, tapered edge plasterboard is installed on top, which can be skimmed and sanded if necessary.
- Approved Document E of the Building Regulations,
- Acoustic foam core is measured to BS 4443 and BS EN ISO 845:2009,
- EU Regulation No 2037/2000 for ozone depletion.
