Isocheck Barrier Mat 5
Isocheck Barrier Mat 5 is a weight enhanced system reducing low frequency and airborne noise, and thus improving acoustic performance of timber floors, walls and metal roofs. The system is used over timber floors, walls and in metal roof applications in new build, refurbishment and conversion applications, specially designed for all areas where reduction of airborne sound is of importance, but not at the expense of depth and height. The product is manufactured from composure of barium sulphate loaded thermoplastic polymer, including mineral filers and plasticized with phthalate esters.
- Great acoustic properties;
- Specially designed for low frequency and airborne sound reduction;
- Recyclable and eco friendly;
- Bitumen free;
- Properly tested and certified.
Isocheck Barrier Mat 5 is applicable over timber floors, walls and over metal roofs in new build, refurbishment and conversion projects.
The mat can be installed in a few basic ways including adding them over the timber floorboards, within a studwork wall or alternatively placed between the floor joists or plasterboard sheets.
The mats can be fixed with hangers, banding or pins or bonded with adequate adhesives such as polyurethane or solvent-based adhesives. It is important to divide skirting from the timber floors which can be done with the use of acoustic flanking bands.
The mat can be built up metal standing seam roofing or if dealing with a flat roof, placed above a profiled metal deck.
The mats are laid over the metal deck so they overlap at joist, at least 50mm. A polythene vapour control layer should be positioned between the mat and added insulation. Finally, a single ply membrane is placed, by following the given manufacturers instructions. More detailed installation instructions are available upon request.
