EWI-301 Water Based Primer - 5L

EWI-301 Water Based Primer is deep penetrating primer used to prepare walls before installing external wall insulation or render-only systems. EWI-301 limits the absorptive capacity of substrates and also strengthen and stabilise dusty substrates. It helps to enhance adhesion external wall insulation, paints and render coats. EWI-301 can withstand adverse weather conditions. EWI-301 can be used on concrete, aerated concrete, walls made of bricks, blocks and structural clay tiles, plaster coats, gypsum panels and gypsum plasterboards.

- Usage: approx. 50-300 ml/m2 depending on substrate structure and absorptive capacity.
APPLICATION
- All substrates must be stable, even and clean.
- Remove all unstable (dull sounding) plaster from the substrate.
- All uneven surfaces should be levelled out using the EWI-260 Levelling Mortar.
- Mix the contents thoroughly before use.
- Do not dilute with water or any other product.
- Apply using a brush or roller.
- Each coat should take approximately 2-4 hours to dry. Highly absorptive substrates should be re-primed after about 4 hours.
- Paints, surface finish products or adhesives should be applied at least 24 hours after priming.
- Work must not be carried out during rain or snow, in strong winds and in direct sunlight without special protection to limit exposure to weather conditions.
- Recently rendered coats must be protected against rain, frost and over-rapid drying.
