CHARACTERISTICS
- Ease of Application,
- Can be used on lightweight masonry structures and stonework,
- Quick drying,
- Highly breathable,
- Water-resistant
- Frost-resistant,
- Excellent adhesion to substrates and EPS panels
APPLICATION
- Remove all loose or peeling plaster coats.
- Level out the cleaned substrate with levelling mortar EWI-260.
- Wall surface, plastered or not, should be wire brushed and rinsed with hydrant water and allowed to dry. Highly absorptive and dusty substrates should be primed with EWI-301.
- Add EWI-220 dry mixture slowly to a container with 6.3 litres of clean cool water. Mix with a slow-speed mechanical mixer to achieve a uniform, lump-free consistency. Allow to cure for about 5 minutes and then mix again thoroughly.
- Hardened mortar should not be mixed with fresh material.
- Apply a portion of the adhesive to the EPS panel and spread it with an appropriate trowel.
- On flat substrates, apply the adhesive to the entirety of the insulation board using a notched trowel.
- Put the panel on the substrate surface and press to make it flush.
- When adding the reinforced mesh, before drying, the mesh needs to be embedded within the basecoat adhesive.
- Work must not be carried during rain or snow, strong winds and in direct sunlight, without special shields to limit exposure to weather conditions.
- The average drying time is 12-48 hours depending on weather conditions.
