Erfurt MAV Insulating Lining Paper - 4mm thick Wall Lining Paper - 500mm x 10m roll
Erfurt MAV Insulating Lining Paper is a 4mm thick wall lining paper providing basic and effective wall insulation and resistance to condensation problems, and is treated with fire retardant. The product is supplied ready laminated to a reinforced liner for easier handling and to provide a basic surface that it is possible to paint directly although over lining is important to achieve a good finish and to improve the durability of the surface.
This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes within your home unless the surface is treated with a fire retardant covering. It is classed as E fire rated and should not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where building regulations apply.
CHARACTERISTICS
- 4mm Polystyrene insulation with bonded reinforcement
- For quick and effective insulation of inside walls
- Resists damp and mould formation on problem walls
- Twice as thick as regular polystyrene wall veneers
- CFC free
- Covers damaged walls and surfaces
- Fire Rating: E
INSTALLATION
- Ensure that base surfaces are clean, dry, firm and free from any loose or flaking material.
- Apply the adhesive generously to the wall using a roller:
- As a guide, recommend up to 2.5kg of paste per roll.
- Use more if the base surface is uneven or textured, applying a thick bed of adhesive.
- Cover an area sufficient to apply one length of Insulating Lining Paper at a time:
- Ensure the pasted area exceeds the width of the Insulating Lining Paper.
- Use a brush or spatula to apply adhesive to areas the roller cannot reach.
- Apply the expanded polystyrene side of the product to the adhesive/wall.
- Place Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ directly from the roll onto the wet adhesive and slide into place.
- Smooth out any bubbles with a roller or similar tool.
- Leave a small amount of surplus material for trimming where necessary.
- Cut off any excess material at the ceiling, floors, and corners using a trimming knife and a forming board.
- For external corners, fill and sand the exposed edge of the material with flexible filler for a neat finish.
- Allow 48 hours for drying; longer if conditions are especially humid or cold.
- It is recommended to allow Insulating Lining Paper to dry naturally:
- Turn off heating while the wallcovering adhesive dries, unless ambient temperatures are likely to drop below 10°C.
- Fill any small gaps at seams and corners with flexible filler.
- It is recommended to line the Insulating Lining Paper with ‘Wallrock Fibreliner’:
- This product is strong, durable, and dimensionally stable, complementing the Insulating Lining Paper perfectly.
- The resulting surface is ready for painting or can be overhung with textured or printed wallcoverings.
