160mm Dufaylite Commercial Clayboard Void Former (pack of 11)

160mm Dufaylite Commercial Clayboard Void Former is a lightweight board available in four different thicknesses, and especially applicable to large scale, commercial projects. It is made from extremely environmentally friendly components, lowering the carbon footprint of the building, but also providing protection for its stability and integrity. It includes a lightweight polypropylene facings made from up to 70% of recyclable materials and used to cover a honeycomb a 100% recyclable and degradable core. It provides substantial nominal comprehensive strength of even 90kN/m, while dry and can withstand a load exceeding 1m thick wet concrete. It is able to relief the extra pressure added to the building once the clay soil underneath begins to expand or shrink due to the water movement, by creating a void and thus protecting its stability and preventing damage. It is important to remove all water from the foundation prior to placing the clayboard and only impose slow water flow to the board once the concrete is self-supporting.

APPLICATION

Dufaylite Commercial Clayboard is designed for commercial, large scale applications only, used whenever there is a risk of clay expansion and shrinkage damaging the structure of the building.
