British Gypsum Gypframe 70 AS 50 3 m Acoustuds are made to fit 43mm, 70mm, 92mm and 146mm wall systems and considerably improve their acoustic performance due to the especially designed profile which absorbs the sound as it passes through the wall construction thus decreasing the noise impact. They have been designed to provide greater strength when compared to the alternative 'C' studs, due to the wider flange widths.
The studs are used in various systems, including:
- GypWall CLASSIC is a lightweight system which provides a 30-120 minutes of fire resistance, has substantial sound insulation performance, also protecting the metal framework from warping, rotting and twisting. The system can be have a number of different applications only if the position of the fixings and the installation are pre-planed and determined;
- GypWall CURVE is a flexible system that is not only designed for curved walls and linings but can also provide an aesthetic and well designed concept. It requires no curved timber templates, providing a minimum radii of 600mm, applicable to communal areas or reception, in particular;
- GypWall EXTREME is a hybrid system consisting of Gyproc plasterboards, Gypframe metal products and Rigidur H fibre reinforced gypsum boards providing great sound insulation performance, great resistance and durability but also highly cost-effective due to the reduced maintenance cycle costs. The systems characteristics make it applicable to traffic corridors and student accommodations. It is recommended for control joints to be installed in order of reducing the construction stresses caused by contraction and expansion;
- GypWall RAPID dB PLUS internal wall system incorporating Gyproc SoundBloc RAPID linings, providing not only acoustic insulation but also impact and fire resistance, in accordance with the applicable Building Regulations. The system includes two installation options with noggins (900mm stud framing) and without noggins (450mm stud frames) which are both very easy to install, achieving the Rw value of 40dB. The system is particularly applicable to internal wall constructions in residential dwellings, whereas special attention should be given to determining the position of services in the frame erection stage and the potential loss of acoustic insulation performance of the system through structural steelwork;
- GypWall ROBUST is available in there stud options (70mm, 92mm and 146mm), meeting BS 5234 requirements, great sound insulation and 60 minutes of fire resistance, and all in a single layer. Due to the durability it provides, it can be applied to almost any commercial building. Some constructions may include installing control joints in the partition, coinciding with movement joists, all in order of relieving the construction of stresses caused by contraction and expansion
APPLICATION
Gypframe 70 AS 50 3 m Acoustuds are used for 43mm, 70mm, 92mm and 146mm wall systems.
