Actis Triso Super 10+ is a thin multi-foil insulation, comprising of even 19 separate layers, including two metallic films with reinforcing mesh, three wadding layers, eight foam layers and six internal reflective films. It has very wide application, but is most suitable for roof and loft insulation, especially if dealing with limited and hardly accessible spaces. The product is space saving, flexible and very easy to install, with no special equipment required, why it is commonly used for loft conversion and other refurbishment projects. It is efficient during both summer and winter season, since it not only retains heat but also prevents heat movement through radiation, thus keeping attic and loft spaces cooler during summer.
- Maintenance-free and cost-effective,
- Resistant to moisture,
- High tensile strength,
- Highly durable and flexible,
- space saving,
- Easy to cut and install,
- Provides insulation both during winter and summer,
- No irritant fibres.
When installing Triso Super 10+ Insulation, it is important to keep in mind the following recommendations:
- It should not be exposed to direct heat source,
- Should be covered with some fireproof finish, such as plasterboard,
- It is not recommended to use the insulation in combination with recess lighting or down-lighters,
- Avoid contact with cooper, zinc or lead,
- Due to high reflectivity of the product, it is recommended to wear proper eye protection,
- Use stainless steel or galvanized staples, preferably 20mm,
- When the product is combined with other products or materials, in order of preventing condensation issues, it is advised to provide adequate ventilation within the space, install a vapour control layer and/or install the product that has the highest water vapour resistivity on the inner side of the construction.
When installing Triso Super multi-foil insulation, it is important to leave an air gap of 25mm between the insulation and the vapour membrane. Make sure that the installed membrane has less than 0.25MNs/g vapour resistance. If installed in felted roof, an air gap between the felt and insulation must be ensured, with ventilation from ridge to eaves. The insulation taut is stapled to the timber support or rafters with proper galvanised or stainless steel nails (preferably 20mm) at every 50mm. The insulation is overlapped 50-100mm at every joint and stapled 50mm onto the timber batten or rafter. In order of providing air tightness, the entire insulation should be covered with proper tape. Finally, all the edges should be folded under and stapled at 50mm and secured with the batten.
