90mm Rockwool FirePro SP FireStop EN 120 Slab - 1000mm x 1200mm - 120 Minutes Fire Safety
90mm Rockwool FirePro SP FireStop EN 120 is a high-performance firestop solution designed to provide exceptional fire resistance in construction applications. This innovative product is made from non-combustible stone wool, which effectively inhibits the spread of fire, smoke, and heat through service penetrations and joints in walls and floors. The FirePro SP FireStop EN is particularly suitable for use in a variety of building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial structures. Its excellent thermal insulation properties contribute to energy efficiency while ensuring compliance with stringent fire safety regulations. FirePro SP FireStop EN may be installed horizontally or vertically and is suitable for cavity widths between 50mm and 600mm.
Additionally, SP FireStop EN is suitable for use behind a curtain wall system as part of a spandrel protection detail. However, it is important to note that SP FireStop EN is not suitable for use as a horizontal fire barrier in ventilated façade systems. It is compatible with various construction materials and services, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. It is also resistant to moisture and does not promote the growth of mould, ensuring reliable performance and maintaining indoor air quality.
CHARACTERISTICS- Easy-to-install dry-fit solution
- Suitable for use both horizontally and vertically
- Designed for cutting on-site with an insulation knife or fine toothed saw and a straight edge.
- Black aluminium foil facing resists passage of smoke
- Resistant to moisture and does not promote mould growth
- Suitable for cavity widths up to 600mm
- Provides excellent thermal insulation properties, contributing to energy efficiency
- For use in masonry cavity walls and curtain wall constructions within commercial and industrial buildings.
It has been tested between various substrates, including:
- Masonry/concrete to masonry/concrete
- SFS to masonry/concrete
- Masonry concrete to composite panel (stone wool core)
INSTALLATION
- Cut a strip of SP FireStop EN Slab to match the cavity size, allowing an additional 10mm to ensure a snug, compressive fit.
- Insert two appropriately re-profiled SP Fixing Brackets into the cut strip at 500mm centres, positioning them 250mm ±10mm from each end.
- Fit the bracket-impaled strip into the cavity, ensuring a secure fit within the void and a tight abutment between adjacent strips.
- Secure the SP Fixing Brackets to the substrate using metal fixings that are suitable for the substrate material.
- For horizontal installations: Apply foil tape to all joints on the upper face of the SP FireStop EN strips.
- For vertical installations: Apply foil tape to all joints on both sides of the SP FireStop EN strips.
- If installing between masonry and sheathing board, appropriate measures should be taken to prevent moisture tracking across the cavity.
- SP FireStop EN has been tested in accordance with BS EN 1366-4:2021 and BS EN 1364-4:2014 classified to BS EN 13501-2.
