75mm EPS70 Kay-Metzeler boards are manufactured by cutting expanded foam blocks. These boards are placed above a concrete slab or a precast concrete floor in domestic ground-floor constructions and finished with a wearing layer of chipboard to meet the Building Regulations' U-value requirements. Kay-Metzeler boards consistently provide thermal performance within the range of temperatures typically found in buildings.
Application
- Thermal insulation subject to low mechanical loads
- Thermal insulation of walls and ceilings from the bottom in Joint-less Warming Systems [BSO], such as insulation performed in a light-wet method
- Insulation of walls with cladding, ventilated by air slots
- Thermal crown insulation made under the plaster and as insulation of lintels and door frames
- Insulation of ceilings made of reinforced concrete as lost planking
- Insulation of steep roofs laid under the bearing structure
Foamed polystyrene boards EPS70 should not be applied in direct contact with substances that have a deteriorating effect on polystyrene, such as organic solvents (e.g. propane, benzene, spirits of turpentine, benzene).
Characteristics
- Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is moisture resistant and compatible with most building products, except those containing solvents
- EPS is rot-proof, unaffected by bacteria, molds, or fungi, and is non-toxic, non-irritating, and odorless
- EPS does not contain CFC or HCFC but is combustible when tested to BS476: Part 4 and will ignite with a flame
The material should be stored under cover, protected from direct sunlight and contact with ground moisture.
Certification
- Foamed polystyrene boards EPS70 are manufactured in compliance with the Standard PN-EN 13163:2009.
Note: The polystyrene boards we sell may not be purely white as shown in the picture. Some of our depots may have polystyrene with black dots (with improved performance). If you require purely white polystyrene sheets for your projects, please contact us before placing an order.
