Thistle Dri-Coat is a cement based renovating plaster created for re-plastering walls after an installation of a new damp proof course (DPC). Walls which have had a defective damp proof course or none at all are likely to contain hygroscopic salts, which can continue to be a source of dampness, even after rising dampness is prevented, because they absorb atmospheric moisture. Thistle Dri-Coat is cement based with waterproofing additives, which restrict the migration of these salts from the background through the plaster and thereby limit their detrimental effect on internal decoration.

- Prevents the detrimental effect of atmospheric moisture

INSTALLATION
- The source of the rising dampness must be identified and eliminated.
- The existing plaster should be hacked off at least 0.5m above the detectable sign of dampness.
- The wall surface should be thoroughly raked out and the brickwork brushed with a wire brush.
- Before applying Thistle Dri-Coat, let the surface be dried out.
- Mix Thistle Dri-Coat with clean water.
- Low suction or smooth backgrounds should be treated with a water resisting bonding aid.
- Initial curing and shrinkage of the undercoat must be allowed prior to application of finish plaster. In good drying conditions, a minimum delay of 24 hours is required.
- Finish using Thistle Board Finish.
- Thistle plasters can be decorated with most paint finishes and wall coverings.
- Tiles up to 20kg/m2 can be applied directly to Thistle plaster.
